Welcome!

Hello Everyone!
Since my mom is back to work and I'm hanging out with my grandparents all day, I thought that I would keep a blog to keep everyone updated on my happenings.
First things first, let me give you all a little background information about myself....My name is Michael James Reed Pierson and I was born at Kent General Hospital on October 22, 2009 at 4:20 pm. My birth was a little different then most, see my mom got really sick with something called Preclampsia, that's high blood pressure in pregnant women. She was admitted to the hospital a whole week before I was born! Well, the only way for her to get better was to have me and so the nice doctors and nurses told mommy and daddy, "We're having a baby now." and off mom went into the OR. She had to have an emergency c-section and my daddy couldn't even go with her. To say the least, they were both very scared. But, they got to have me....I was a little small only 2 pounds 12 ounces and 15 inches long but I was so cute, if I do say so myself. Mommy got better and I got to hang out in the NICU for 6 long weeks. I missed seeing my mommy and daddy all day and all night but I made a lot of friends. I even had my first female roommate, mom said that I can't have another one of them for a long long long time. I can't thank them enough, Ms. Amanda, Ms. Debby, Ms. Patty, Ms. Natalie, Ms. Courtney, and Ms. Shelley for everything they did for me. I know that I'm missing some and thank you to them too. My mommy still hangs out with some of the nurses. They are her special friends because they helped me. I got to come home after those 6 weeks were up and boy did I change mommy and daddy's world. I had to eat every three hours if I wanted to or not, that's the life, let me tell you, having someone wake you up to eat......It's nice. Mom got to hang out at home with me until the end of January. She loved it but had to go back to work, her other kids missed her. (Mom's a teacher at a high school with really big kids.) We are now getting into a schedule, even though that means I like to wake up at 3 am. Mom gets a little mad at me for this, she says, "Michael, can't you wait 2 more hours, mommy gets up for work at 5....." I'm working on the whole sleeping thing but I'm a growing boy and I've got to eat. I'm up to 7 pounds 2 ounces as of Friday. Woo Hoo! Man, did I just woo hoo? I've been hanging around with the cheerleaders too much. Mom coaches the high school team and those girls love me......they just want to hold me and give me kisses. They are currently fighting over who gets to watch me but the winner would have to fight my Nana for that honor. What can I say, I'm a hunk. Well, it's almost 3:00 and mom will be out of school soon and coming to pick me up. I have a big night planned, I'm going to my Nana and Pop's house for a sleep over. I'll tell you all about it in my next post.
Peace Out! Michael

  2. Whitney, this is great! Michael is so big in this picture compared to previous ones I'v seen. (And as he modestly pointed out, he is awfully cute.) I can't believe he is 7 pounds already. He is finally up to newborn weight! I guess those 3 hour feedings are working out.
